Williamson County is one of Tennessee's most-prosperous and growing counties, home to major corporate headquarters, historic town centers, quiet neighborhoods, an abundance of shopping and retail, high-quality schools and plenty of open spaces. The Cool Springs area of Franklin and the Maryland Farms section of Brentwood include headquarters for major employers including Nissan, Community Health Systems and Healthways. Located just south of Nashville, Williamson County offers schools that routinely achieve some of the top test scores in the state. Franklin, the county's largest city, includes a revitalized historic town square and numerous historic sites, including Carnton Plantation and the Carter House, both of which played major roles in the Civil War's Battle of Franklin.

The county is served by two school districts: Williamson County Schools and the Franklin Special School District, both of which are consistently lauded as two of the best school systems in the state. Columbia State Community College has a growing presence in the area with a burgeoning Franklin campus, and O'More College of Design educates arts students in an idyllic downtown Franklin environment.

Health Care
Williamson County is a hub for major healthcare industries. Williamson Medical Center is a 185-bed hospital, accredited by the Joint Commission, with more than 500 board-certified physicians in more than 36 specialties. In addition, Nashville-based Vanderbilt Medical Group offers a number of services in in Williamson County, including walk-in clinics, a Bone & Joint Clinic, and two branches of The Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
Neighborhoods
Williamson County and its incorporated cities of Franklin, Brentwood, Fairview, Nolensville, Spring Hill and Thompson's Station offer a wide range of residential properties, including single-family dwellings, apartments and condominiums. Williamson County has become a magnet for corporate headquarters for companies like Nissan North America and Mars Petcare, along with major healthcare companies like Healthways and Simplex Healthcare. The county is home to 13 of the top 25 largest publicly traded companies in the Nashville region. The Cool Springs Life Sciences Center buildings, already home to BioMimetic Therapeutics, is actively recruiting more companies to create a life sciences manufacturing hub in the area.
