Williamson County Maintains Two Indoor Soccer Facilities

Indoor soccer enjoys two popular homes in Williamson County.

Both Brentwood's Indoor Arena at Crockett Park and Franklin's Robert A. Ring Indoor Soccer Arena serve as the county’s only purpose-built venues for indoor soccer play.

Indoor Arena at Crockett Park
A joint venture between the city of Brentwood and the Williamson County Parks and Recreation, Brentwood's indoor arena has been a gift not only to soccer players but to other sports enthusiasts as well.

The site’s popularity came as no surprise, says Dave Bunt, director of Brentwood Parks and Recreation.

Prompted by the ever-increasing popularity of soccer and other sports, Brentwood city officials approached the county about opening a second indoor sports facility.

The resulting 29,000-square-foot arena seats 195 spectators and boasts high ceilings, indirect lighting, netting specially designed to accommodate different sports and a recessed court with glass dasher boards (think hockey arena), allowing spectators an up-close-and-personal view of the action.

The 60-yard by 30-yard playing floor mimics real turf, which helps players develop their outdoor playing skills. A meeting room can accommodate 30 people.

Robert A. Ring Indoor Soccer Arena
This circa-2000 arena with a professional soccer court was fully renovated in June 2009.

The pitch has been completely replaced, and the old boards and nets have been replaced with floor to ceiling glass walls to allow for more complete viewing of games.
