Arrington Vineyards Shows off Williamson County's Agricultural Roots
Residents and tourists alike are smitten with one of the county’s newest agricultural innovations, Arrington Vineyards, where they can sample (for free!) a dozen wines produced on the premises.
The vineyard, co-owned by businessman Fred Minderman and country star Kix Brooks, opened in July 2007 and draws more than 1,000 visitors a week.
“We didn’t expect it to take off the way it did, but it’s been wonderful,” says Arrington Vineyards Business Manager Christel Foley. “We wanted to be a destination where people could come and stay for a while, and that’s what we are.”
Couples, families and friends come to the vineyard for tastings and stay for a picnic lunch or perhaps a little music on summer evenings.
You might even find Kix Brooks himself pouring a sample of his dry, California-style wines.
“This is his home away from home,” Foley says of Brooks, “and it’s not a bit strange for him to jump behind the bar and do tastings.”
